Netcraft reports that their web server survey counter over 110 million sites, just few months from crossing 100 million sites in November 2006.
Apache web server is leading the market share with 58%.

The Planet, EV1Servers integration completed |
|
The Planet has completed it's merger with EV1Servers lately. Both dedicated server providers were acquired in May 2006 by GI Partners. According to Netcraft analysis, The Planet is now the world's six-largest hosting company, with 1.89 million hostnames, 22000 clients in 6 data centers and over 110 million USD of combined revenue.
Still bigger than The Planet are: Go Daddy, 1&1 Internet, Microsoft, Google and Intergenia AG.
